Macro fundamentals
The idea
Scheduled releases create a known time of uncertainty, not a known direction. Spreads, slippage and gaps can change execution. Plan whether the event is a reason to stand aside, reduce exposure or observe. A strategy designed for ordinary conditions should not silently become a news strategy.
A worked example
A stop ten units away can fill farther away when quotes jump across it. A backtest using only candle closes can miss that execution risk.
Try it yourself
Use the economic calendar to identify one event and write a no-trade window for a demo-session plan.
A mistake to avoid
Using the forecast-versus-actual difference as an automatic market-order instruction.
